Kate was an absolute DREAM to work with! A friend referred her to me, and I could not be more happy that she did. Upon researching photographers, Kate stood out to me for many reasons. First, her portfolio is absolutely breathtaking. Every photo she takes is stunning and you can tell that she excels at capturing the spirit of the day. During our phone consult, she came to our meeting beyond prepared, and made sure she deeply understood what it was my soon-to-be husband and I wanted out of the day and our photos and what was most important to us. Best yet, she asked so many questions about our love story and how we met, and genuinely cared to celebrate those memories with us.
To work with her in person just gets even better! From our engagement session to our wedding day, Kate made us feel so comfortable, made us laugh, gave clear direction to us and our wedding party, and was extremely organized and efficient. She set the tone for the day and kept everything on track. Someone that was organized, timely, and efficient was super important to me throughout the planning process.

My husband, Tim, and I were married in Chicago, IL in July 2017 and hired Kate Weinstein to be our wedding photographer. I'm so glad we did because Kate was an absolute joy to work with through the entire process. She is incredibly kind and she is genuinely thoughtful. She even mailed me a book about cats in french cafes that she picked up for me while she was on vacation because she knew I'd love it!
In addition to Kate's many wonderful qualities she is always professional, timely, a good communicator-she kept us right on track our whole wedding day, and most importantly, she is truly invested in producing a product that you will love and cherish for the rest of your life.
One of the most important aspects of the wedding planning process for Tim and I was to make sure that our wedding day was a representation of us as a couple. Kate executed that vision perfectly. She photographed us in our home, with our cats, in our neighborhood. She has a wonderful eye for catching the light in just the right way, and knowing exactly where to place you so that you just glow!
About a month ago Tim and I celebrated our two year anniversary and we left our STUNNING wedding album (Seriously, the albums that she puts together are beyond gorgeous) out for two full weeks so that we go through it again and again. Friends and family stopped by and looked through it and we were all reminiscing about what a great weekend it was-Something that we'll continue to do on every anniversary going forward.
I wouldn't hesitate a second to book Kate again and we can't thank her enough for the giving us the gift of these beautiful photos!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Kate. She is truly a special person and did an amazing job with both our engagement and wedding photos. My fiance was particularly camera shy, and she made us feel so comfortable. She is able to capture the most special moments without encroaching or overly directing, allowing things to flow naturally, but also giving a little suggestion when needed. She was incredibly thoughtful with planning and kept in easy touch throughout the process for many months before our big day. Our photos turned out so beautifully - both the planned family portraits and the candid shots she took throughout the day. We will continue to look back at these photos and remember the whole spectrum of feelings from our wedding that she captured so well. We hope we can work with her again someday!

She also just has a great artistic eye and manages to capture the best moments - all while making you look even better than in real life somehow. I cannot recommend Kate enough. Our original photographer canceled on us last minute due to a person emergency. But it’s true that everything happens for a reason because it led us to Kate! Kate jumped in seamlessly at the very last moment. From the first time talking to Kate on the phone, it felt like talking to an old friend. She took so much care in asking questions about us as a couple and understanding our vision for the day. Other than your spouse of course, the photographer is the one other person you spend almost the entire day with, so you want to have someone you enjoy being around! Kate has the perfect amount of energy and joy to make you feel so happy and comfortable. It felt so natural having her there; she felt like just another family member. And she captured the entire day perfectly. It’s so apparent that’s Kate’s background is in art because her artist eye is astonishing. I was blown away when I received our pictures - she captured so many perfect, beautiful, genuine moments. She’s a true artist. If you want natural, beautiful, timeless pictures that you will look back on for years and still love, then Kate is your girl.
